This piece depicts two young boys playing barefoot in a war-torn environment, symbolizing both their vulnerability and strength. The crumbling buildings, rubble-strewn ground, and distant aircraft serve as reminders of the harsh reality that surrounds them, while the boys’ expressions convey an unbroken spirit. One child wears a green tank top with Hebrew text, while the other drapes a blue and white flag across his shoulders, evoking the pride and identity they hold onto even in turbulent times. The soccer ball at their feet represents a universal language of play, freedom, and childhood that persists despite the bleak setting. Through vivid colors and lively expressions, I aimed to highlight the courage and innocence that these children embody as they navigate a world shaped by conflict—a world where survival and hope coexist on cracked pavement. This piece is a tribute to the unyielding nature of childhood and the way children adapt to life under conditions that are anything but normal.
